Our History
Frooition is a multi-channel e-commerce specialist design agency. Founded over 17 years ago, Frooition are experts in eBay design delivery. Lead from the UK with a small team, Frooition uses in house design and development teams and never outsource.
Most recently Frooition have helped thousands of eBay sellers become compliant with eBay’s active content rules, ensuring sellers do not miss out on sales. Since eBay made the changes Frooition are now the only certified eBay design company that offers dynamic categories and dynamic cross promotion that automatically update as items sell.
The only eBay certified design company, Frooition sit on the eBay developer council and are always pre-informed and well prepared for changes to the platform.
2005
2006
Frooition acquired the sub-brand CreativeBay.
In-house training for eBay sellers was phased out as demand for custom eBay design rocketed. The Frooition design team was further expanded to meet the increased demand for our creative services.
Also, a whale swam up the Thames to visit the Queen…
2007
2008
We attended eBay Live in Chicago and revealed our brand new eBay Listing Software. The software enabled Frooition customers to list items directly to eBay with their custom template design automatically applied to their products.
And that amazing Batman film came out…
2009
2010
Frooition become the only certified provider specializing in design, a fact we are still very proud of today! Due to the success of our software solutions, Frooition were invited to speak at eBay’s Developers Conference in San Jose. We also launched ‘Froo Cross Sell’, and became the number 1 app both paid and free on eBay.com.
In January web-design changed forever when Apple unveiled the iPad tablet computer.
2011
We also started providing design services for BigCommerce websites, and built functionality for sellers to import their BigCommerce inventory into their Frooition accounts, ready for uploading to eBay.

Also, we finally won at Wimbledon!
2014
Frooition sponsored the Channel Advisor Catalyst event in Las Vegas, and went to see Diana Ross!
Channel Advisor announced that they now supported BigCommerce as an eCommerce platform, which allowed Frooition to launch a new multi-channel design package…
I guess that is what you call a chain reaction?
2015
We smashed the 200,000 customer mark and successfully served over 93 million listings in one day, without slowing down our servers or suffering any downtime or performance related issues.
eBay ask us to assist with onboarding and creating a custom store/listing design for the Bob Bonis Archive, after the discovery of thousands of unseen Beatles & Rolling Stones photographs taken by their US Tour manager (Bob Bonis).
2016
Due to concerns regarding security and customer experience, eBay restrict the use of active content within listings.
Frooition work closely with the eBay team to develop an updated listing template service which is fully compliant with the revised policies and still looks great! All existing clients are migrated onto the new platform without any issues.
Also, Stranger Things premiered, and we all immediately jumped on eBay to buy vintage BMX’s, toys and Eggos.
2017
2018
eBay announce that they will be closing their Apps Center, so Frooition build their own to ensure that sellers can continue to use the Apps/features that they love.
2019
We also continued with working with large brand-name clients such as Crocs, Toolstation and Dyson to help establish their presence on eBay.
2020
It was a trying time for most but we got through it and the business came out the other side, still designing and creating new content for eBay and BigCommerce.
2021
It was nice to see everyone again and not have to make our own cups of tea all the time.
We built a games room downstairs with a pool table, arcade machines and a dart board… we did some work too…
2022
In 2022 we started work on a new optimisation tool to help sellers “boost” sales of existing products.
We also continued working with a number of huge brands to build their eBay services, including Lego, British Heart Foundation, Puma, Age UK, Oxfam, HP and more.
Also, we hosted the Commonwealth Games (Birmingham is the closest city to Frooition, and the cycling time-trials were 5 minutes away from the Frooition offices)!
2023
The Creative Team were finally given access to re-design and re-build the Frooition.com website – Nice isn’t it?
Also, a range of new services and offerings were developed to help make selling on the worlds largest marketplaces a quicker and more efficient process, help reduce customer returns, and Boost the visibility of your products in highly competitive environments.
